Once again, the ScanDesign Master Studio from the University of Washington, led by Professor Nancy Rottle, visited Malmö. It’s a cheerful and inquisitive group of future landscape architects and urban planners, tasked with learning as much as possible about blue-green solutions in Scandinavia, which they will later apply in a study project back in Seattle.
This time, the visit lasted not just one but two days, and the group also brought along bicycles, allowing us to visit many interesting locations. We experienced both a heatwave and a heavy downpour along the way.
We look forward to welcoming you back again next year!

When Swedish Gardens held their conference at Slottsträdgården, we took the 52 participants on a tour of Varvsstaden and Västra Hamnen to showcase some of Malmö’s blue-green solutions. It was a great opportunity to meet staff from Skansen, Gunnebo, and 32 other visiting gardens from across Sweden. And, of course, we were lucky to have beautiful weather too!
